A photo portrait turns a picture of people into thread: a couple on their wedding day, grandparents with the grandchildren, a baby’s first photo, or a group of friends, redrawn as a stitched outline or a filled portrait and embroidered on the garment you choose. It is the most involved design we stitch and the one that gets kept the longest, so this category explains how it works before you order.
\nTwo portrait styles are offered on each product page. The outline style traces faces, hair and clothing in a single thread colour and suits one to three people; it reads cleanly on the left chest and on caps. The filled style uses several thread colours for skin, hair and clothing and suits a centre-chest placement with room for up to four or five people. Add first names, a surname, a wedding date or a short line beneath the portrait in the same thread.
\nWhat we need from you: a sharp photo where every face is visible and lit from the front, uploaded on the product page. We redraw it into a stitch file and email you the proof; you approve it or ask for changes to any face, hairstyle or detail before we stitch. Photo portraits take the same 1-3 business days to stitch after approval and ship free with tracking to the US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.
